Upcoming Events For The Spokane Symphony

The Nutcracker Ballet with the Spokane Symphony – December 1, 2 and 3
A cherished holiday event, delighting children of all ages in the historic Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox, The
Nutcracker
is the story of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince, performed by the award-winning Santa Barbara-based
State Street Ballet and more than 70 local dancers. Experience Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score performed live by
the Spokane Symphony under Assistant Conductor Jorge Luis Uzcategui. Five performances include Thursday,
November 30 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, December 2 at 2:00 and 7:30 p.m., and
Sunday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices range from $17.50-$57 for children 12 and younger, and $25-$82 for
adults.

Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra with Itamar Zorman, violin – December 4

The Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Conductor Kevin Hekmatpanah, perform Beethoven’sSymphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92 and Dvorak’s Violin Concerto in A Major, Op. 53 with violin soloist Itamar Zorman. Zorman is the recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant and a Borletti-Buitoni Trust award, in addition to many other prizes. This concert takes place on Monday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. Tickets are $15, students and seniors are $12 with ID. 

Brit Floyd Immersion World Tour 2017 – December 7
Brit Floyd brings the music of Pink Floyd to life once again with its lavish new stage show on Thursday, December
7 at 8:00 p.m. The spectacle of a classic Pink Floyd concert experience is truly recaptured in high definition sound,
with a stunning million-dollar light show and state-of-the-art video design. The Brit Floyd show has become a
phenomenon, widely regarded as the world’s greatest live tribute to Pink Floyd. Tickets range from $42.50 to $57.50
and VIP packages are available. 

Baroque 1: A Festive Baroque Christmas – December 9 & 10
New for Christmas this year: Relish some of the best-loved Christmas compositions from the Baroque period set in
the splendor of two of the region’s most beautiful churches. The Spokane Symphony, conducted by Music Director
Eckart Preu, will perform a selection of Baroque Christmas music. Also in this concert is Handel’s Royal Fireworks
Music. The December 9 concert is at 7:00 p.m. at Westminster Congregational Church, 411 S. Washington Street in
Spokane, and the Sunday, December 10 concert is at 3:00 p.m. at Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, 15515 E.
20th Avenue. (This is the first of a 2 concert series — Baroque 2: Venice, the Magical City will be March 17 & 18 at
the two churches.) Tickets are $36 for individual concerts or $54 for the series of two concerts. 

Whitworth University Christmas Festival: Emmanuel, God With Us– December 9 & 10
Whitworth’s Festival Concerts are performed with over 100 individuals, including members of the Whitworth
Choir, the Whitworth Women’s Choir, and student instrumentalists. This concert, on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 8:00 p.m.
and Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3:00 p.m. at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox will be elevated through choral works,
readings, and traditional carols for audience and choirs. Presented seamlessly and without pause or interruption, this
ever-popular concert will be concluded in candlelight. Tickets are $20 regular admission, $15 students and seniors
(62+). 

Holiday Pops—December 16 & 17
The Spokane Symphony celebrates the holidays with heartwarming Christmas music conducted by Resident
Conductor Morihiko Nakahara, plus the beautiful voices of the Spokane Symphony Chorale and the Spokane Area
Youth Choirs, a carol singalong, and the short animated film, “The Snowman” with the orchestra performing its
charming soundtrack. Santa Claus always joins in the fun at both the Saturday, December 16 concert at 8:00 p.m.
and the Sunday, December 17 concert at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $24-$57 for children, and $36-$83 for adults.

Straight No Chaser: The Speakeasy Tour – December 28
If the phrase, “male a cappella group” conjures up an image of students in blue blazers, ties and khakis singing
traditional college songs, think again. Straight No Chaser (SNC) are neither strait-laced nor straight-faced, and
they’re not vaudeville-style kitschy. They have a massive fan base, numerous national TV appearances to their
credit, and proven success with CD releases. SNC is the real deal--the captivating sound of nine unadulterated
voices coming together to make extraordinary music. SNC performs at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on
Thursday, December 28 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets range from $34.50 to $62.50. DETAILS:

New Year’s Eve: Beethoven’s Ninth – December 31
Toast the New Year with joy and triumph! Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, his most glorious, jubilant masterpiece, is
performed by the Spokane Symphony and the Spokane Symphony Chorale. Music Director Eckart Preu conducts
this moving testament to the human spirit, including the final exhilarating hymn, Ode to Joy. It’s a great way to
usher in the new year with love and music. The concert takes place on December 31 at 7:30 p.m., and then the fun
continues at the Historic Davenport Hotel’s Grand Pennington Ballroom at “Puttin’ On The Ritz,” an evening of
dinner, dancing and entertainment with Master Class Big Band, complete with a champagne toast. Tickets for
Beethoven’s 9th range from $12-$36 for children 12 and under, and $18-$52 for adults. Tickets for “Puttin’ On The
Ritz” are sold separately from the Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and cost $125. DETAILS:
